So I started my new job, next week is the first full time week. Last saturday I had a class from 9 to 12. It was all improvisation. I don't like that at all. It was ok., but it could have been better. I think this school needs more organization. But it's really up to me how organized it is to be. But I didn't know about it. So my classes this week should be better. I hope, anyway. I also have a cold, which I am recovering from. I don't like being sick. I can imagine being one of those people who are so fat that they can't move. I don't like being in bed. Not that I am a very active guy. I just don't like being in bed. Not that I am a particularly active guy. The language is going well, I am almost done the dictionary. Nothing much else to report.

Chandelier Tree
The Chandelier Tree is a 315 foot (96 metre) tall coast redwood tree in Leggett, California with a 6 foot (1.83m) wide by 9 foot (2.74m) high hole cut through its base to allow a car to drive through. The hole was carved in the 1930s. A dead log from a giant sequoia exists lying on the ground in Sequoia National Park with a similar hole cut through it.

Books: Winning by Jack Welsh. A business book. I prefer to read non-fiction, and my pickings are slim at my local book shop. This was written by the former head of GE. It's an interesting inside look at capitalism. Some of the advice is good, and I am going to try to apply it to my project.
Movies: Uh...lots, but I will just mention the ones that I remember. Ocean's Eleven. Eye candy. Not bad, just nothing of substance. Half Ton Man. About the largest people in the world. How they get that way, and what hope there is for them for a cure. The interesting thing, I found was how all of these people didn't get that way by themselves. They all had spouses. I think those people should be put in jail. You don't give a donut to a man who weighs more than a horse. Big Sugar about the connect between sugar, slavery and the obesity epidemic. Something about Holland, kind of government propaganda. The Protestant Revolution-how Protestantism helped to create the modern world. Another about the production of the album Nevermind. The strange thing was, how old the surviving members of Nirvana looked. I age and half the mortal world ages with me. Funny, I wrote that when I was 18.

Adam's Weekend Hockey Update
Ottawa continues to be excellent. They were handed their first defeat by the Carolina Hurricanes. One could excuse their play by saying that they played back to back, but I think Carolina has returned to their previous form. They destroyed Toronto 7-1. I remember writting here two seasons ago that the only team that Ottawa would have a problem with was Carolina, and they ended up wining a Stanley Cup. Toronto Death Watch- They continue to suck. They lost to Pittsburgh last night. It's not that I don't like the idea of the Toronto Maple Leafs, they have a long tradition in hockey. What I don't like is that the management of that franchise really doesn't care that they suck so badly. But the best hockey news of the week, is that next season 2008-9 there will be an nhl game in Prague, very close to Lodz, and guess who's playing? Pittsburg and Ottawa. This is a chance of a lifetime for me to go to see one of the best teams in the past ten years, and by that time, I hope, the Stanley Cup champions. I'm really going to try to go.
